Should I Write a Story on Substack?

I do try to write for Flash Fiction Friday every week, but that’s just 15 minutes of unformed creative flow. There are a lot of other Substackers (is that the term?) writing series or other long-form stories on here, and I wonder if I should too.

Ideas aren’t the problem. I have way too many of those.

Time is the problem. I’m a very busy person, and with personal stuff (caring for elderly parents, disabled son, and an upcoming move), the economy, and my career (freelance writing) going the way it’s going, and all that won’t let up anytime soon. I’m already working on multiple projects for my various pen names.

In the end, I have to look at things realistically. It’s much better for my career to put out another book on a platform where I can earn some money and satisfy existing readers. Building another audience on another site isn’t something I have time or energy for. Or the skills really. Again, I’ve always been bad at this social media stuff.
